Summary/Abstract: The child suffering from mental disability is a child like the others, with needs, desires, aspirations...only that he expresses them differently. And this otherwise is usually hard to understand by those around him. Often the problems that arise in the education of children with disabilities are due to their misunderstanding by those involved in their education: parents, teachers, and children. The present work is intended to be a brief insight into the understanding of a child with mental disabilities in three important areas: communication, relationships that he establishes, feelings and emotions manifested. In order to achieve this, we set up an observation grid, applied to 11 students from an inclusive school. Although the number of subjects was relatively small, we believe that they are useful in developing strategies to facilitate the work with these students, based on the Ludotherapy.
