Summary/Abstract: The author highlights the importance of the printing activity of hieromonk Macarie for the cultural history of Romanians, in the context of the celebration of 500 years from the issue of the first printed book on Romanian territory, the Missal, in 2008 and of the second one, the Octoechos, in 2010 respectively.
