Summary/Abstract: Johann Friedrich Herbart (1776 – 1841) is a pedagogue whose system is widely disseminated in the pedagogical practice of many European countries. He analyzes questions related to: individuality as a psychological phenomenon; formation of multilateral interests; the role of the experience in the learning process; the educator`s role; educational training; management and upbringing; the internal mechanisms of the learning process.
