The Component /+human/ in Chromatic Terms

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the presence of the attribute /+human/ in idioms including the chromatic terms blue, black, red and green, as well as the term colour, by means of componential analysis.The studied corpus is extracted from the work of the historian Michel Pastoureau dedicated to the four colour terms we investigate.Besides identifying this feature, our goal is to analyse the extent to which the denotative meaning of colour terms is found in the studied phrases.
