Summary/Abstract: The article is a tentative attempt at identifying posthumanism as a theoretical framework for the texts in the current issue. The author points to some inspirations of the intellectual trend in question, to some historical circumstances which accompanied its beginnings as well as to some related categorical shifts in the humanities discourse, a choice of examples from the artistic practice and cognitive dilemmas faced by the representatives of this trend in the course of their research work.
