Summary/Abstract: The results of a comparative study, which revealed significant differences in the perceptions of self-efficacy between a sample of persons sentenced to drink-driving probation and random sample data, are presented. The scale of R. Schwarzer et al. of „generalized self-efficacy” (GSES) is used for this purpose. One conclusion is that the interaction between „alcohol motivation” and low self-efficacy can serve as an explanation for the risk behaviors of convicted persons in the context of the „planned behavior” model of I. Ajzen. The results of this study point out the need for specialized therapeutic assistance for those sentenced to probation for driving drunk.
