Use of synthetic indicator for the assessment of impact of macro-economic development on SME’s

Summary/Abstract: This article was devoted to the analysis of the impact of the macro-economic situation in Poland on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in 2004-2015. In order to implement the research problem the author constructed synthetic indicators of the country development and the development of small and medium sized businesses in Poland. Then, correlation was tested using Pearson correlation index and the cause-effect by using a statistical regression analysis. The results of the investigations have shown that the development of small and medium-sized enterprises is highly dependent on the general economic situation in Poland.
