Summary/Abstract: Founded on May 25th 1860, the Library of the Ministry of War accumulated by institutional funding and donations from militaries or Romanian personalities in science and culture, a valuable collection which today includes about 220,000 volumes and more than 100 collections of periodicals.The Library preserves and brings to light the values of the Romanian military written culture traditions and it creates the legal deposit of documents for the unclassified military documents.In present, the National Military Library is a military, cultural-scientific and education institution of national importance and it contributes actively to the Romanian Army public positive image, in the country and abroad.
