Summary/Abstract: Nowadays mental training is an indispensable element of professional training process for sports athletes who compete on the highest level and need support for their performance enhancement. One of many mental training tools is visualization that improves the quality of athletic movement, increases their concertation and reduces high pressure to build athletic confidence. Despite this, many IT applications have been put into practice in sport environment. Therefore the augmented reality (AR) has become an interesting and important technology to be applied into the field of sport. The paper presents functionality of augmented reality and its practical applicability in mental training. It also shows selected devices which may be implemented into the sport training process, as well as proposed scenarios of augumented reality implementation into imagery training of judo. The concept of this application is discussed.
