Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of a comparative study of large blade production technologies in the Upper Palaeolithic industries of the Middle Yenisei, including Ust-Maltat II, Derbina IV and V, Malaya Siya (cultural layer 3) and Kokorevo I (cultural layer 4). The analysis of cores and blade blanks leads to a conclusion that in all these sites the production of large blades was accomplished by using the same knaping tehnology. This technological sameness appears to be a result of convergence, conditioned by the similarity of both the raw material and the desired product (big blades).
