Summary/Abstract: Man as a social being strives to create relationships with people, builds relations with them on a daily basis and has the will to belong to specific groups. In this respect, communication plays an essential role. Through the development of new techniques, including Internet techniques, it became possible to share information with an unlimited number of users. This article presents the essence and concept of the media, the shaping of personality of the media receivers and the specificity of social media, as well as the results of survey researches. These issues constitute the content of this work.
