Summary/Abstract: During Ceausescu regime, Romania intensified its efforts in the nuclear research field. The first part of this article presents some important moments from the development of Romanian nuclear program: the establishment of the State’s Committee for nuclear energy, the Romanian-Canadian and Romanian-American negotiations for buying the nuclear technology and devices. The last part presents the memoirs of Cornel Mihulecea, the president of State’s Committee for Nuclear Energy (1976-1990), related to his activity.
