Summary/Abstract: It has been estimated that the growth of the dietary supplements (DS) market will have amounted to 8% annually by 2020 and it will reach an estimated value of 5.04 billion PLN then. Within this group of products, one can notice the growing significance of DS intended for children aged 0-10.The preliminary research on the number and the types of DSthat are available on the Polish market and that are intended for children was carried out as part of the following paper. The scope of the research included the analysis of the composition, intended use and the formulation of the products. Getting to know the size of this particular market is of superior importance and it is related to making the society aware of the opportunities as well as dangers related to diet supplementation. Cases of overdose are usually related to the lack of knowledge on food content among adults who are responsible for administering selected DS to children but also to the lack of proper control over dosage
