Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the issue of project management in the context of supply chain operation, which is led by a Japanese company. The first part of the paper presents the gist of the project and project management with regard to the supply chain operation. Then the stages and actions are shown, which according to the authors condition their effective and efficient implementation within the frames of those specific network organizations. Two stages of project implementation are indicated in the paper depending on specific, multi-entity structure of supply chains, namely the concept and research stage and the analysis and implementation stage. This part also presents a compilation of suggested analyses, techniques and tools possible to apply at every stage of their implementation. The second part of the paper is devoted to a case study of project implementation within the supply chain led by a Japanese company.
