Summary/Abstract: Polish Artistic Society “Ars Musica” was founded Český Těšín in February 1999. Its aim is the promotion of Polish Minority culture in the Czech Republic, with particular attention paid to music, folk culture and theatre. The Society offers support on the organizational and financial basis to bands that represent highest artistic level. It predominantly gathers young people. The Society offers collective membership to eight bands that perform not only in Zaolzie, but also abroad. The repertoire of “Ars Musica” choirs is based on pieces of music written by Polish composers, and it propagates music culture in the Czech Republic as well as in the whole Europe. Youth members of the bands draw satisfaction from the accomplished skills levels and membership in a circle of Poles resident in the Czech Republic.
