Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the change of the security environment around Poland and its impact on the Polish citizens’ sense of threat. It also shows that the contemporary military conflicts will be fought in accordance with different principles, so the Polish Territorial Defence Forces are military answer to new challenges to security. Article holistically describes development concepts, and unique training system designed to achieve Full Operational Capabilities (FOC) by the Polish Territorial Defence Forces. Having in mind, that Strategic Defence Review is not completed yet, article shows the most likely set of missions, and tasks for the Polish Territorial Defence Forces within Strategic Defence Operation.
