Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to analyze political, and strategical-operational limitations of 16th Airborne Battalion in executing mandatory missions during IFOR operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Part I contains abbreviated timeline of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, peace negotiations process as well as development of IFOR Forces. Part II describes operational employment of 16th Airborne Battalion in IFOR operation. In conclusion, author analyzed the operational factors: space, forces, and time affecting the employment of 16th Airborne Battalion in IFOF operations. Moreover, the author describes the political importance of IFOR mission for entire Polish Armed Forces.
