Summary/Abstract: With globalization of the food chain, the main international organizations have made a careful regulatory activity and normalization in matters of food safety. The two global acting organizations, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO), but also the European Union at our continent have developed a coherent framework of international standards aimed at improving foods and food safety, and reducing environment aggression and protecting the health. The author presents some new and important standards which enforce the right to food security and safety adopted by these international organizations and their impact on Romanian economy.
