Summary/Abstract: The theory of the generational cycle by W. Strauss and N. Howe describes the course of history as a pattern of four repetitive phases, types of generations and a recurring cycle of spiritual awakening and secular crises. According to this concept since 2007/2008 we have been in the final stage of the cycle − the phase of social crisis, which always means a breakthrough moment, with conflicts leading to wars, even of a totalitarian nature. These are the periods of grave shocks when the society focuses on the reorganization of systems and institutions, most likely to produce a completely new order. Nowadays, the most dangerous sources of conflicts are: the crisis of liberal democracy, the intensification of social inequalities and the effects of climate change, with rapidly growing population migration. The result may be the emergence of new political solutions, territorial changes, new transnational connections.
