Development of regional statistics research for monitoring of cohesion policy

Summary/Abstract: Monitoring of cohesion policy is extremely important for its proper implementation. Providing data allows assessment of changes. Official statistics is a key partner in the construction process of the policy monitoring system. Since 2013 the Central Statistical Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Development have been conducting research aimed at extending the range of information and adapting it to the needs of cohesion policy. This article presents the scope of the research, its objectives, methods and selected results. The elaborations are related mainly to monitoring and implementation of the provisions of strategic documents, changes occuring in functional areas and quality of public services.
