Summary/Abstract: This sketch is dedicated to analyzing the rhetoric of socrealistic drama on the example of „Zwycięstwo” by Janusz Warmiński, „Zwykła sprawa” by Adam Tarn and „Brygada szlifierza Karhana” by Vašek Kania. In those texts the linguistic means typical of propaganda are used. The aesthetic function is entirely subordinated to ideological considerations. The techniques of persuasion most often are hidden or indirect and include the tendency to impose arbitrary meanings on words. The language of socrealistic drama is highly ritual. Such devices as dichotomous division of the represented world, the elements of the socialist doctrine, class enemy and struggle, a motif of plot and the optimistic ending are its indispensable components. Most of them make the radically ideological drama similar to a fairy tale genre. Furthermore, the representational function is minimized, while the magical function dominates.
