Localistic qualities of local development strategic governance

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the problems of local development strategic governance. It discusses research results aimed at the identification of the key features of local development pointed in the subject literature, at the demonstration that the theory and practice is focused on the rationalistic qualities of local development strategic governance and consequences of it, and also at the specification and presentation of the desirable, localistic qualities of this governance. The main research methods used were the content analysis of subject literature, carried out in 2016, and participant observations conducted in the period 1998-2017 in the course of developing and implementing 79 local development strategies of 62 Polish municipalities. The article ends with the definitions of local development strategic governance, taking into account its, specified in research, localistic qualities and also the reasons for continuing research covering them.
