Opinions regarding the role of the specialized university library in the knowledge society

Summary/Abstract: Din perspectivă biblioteconomică, în domeniul vast al informației dominat de prefaceri continue şi de noi tendințe, problematica bibliotecilor universitare este tot mai profund reanalizată prin prisme critice în acest început de mileniu. Strategiile acestor biblioteci sunt reproiectate în vederea determinării acelor direcții de dezvoltare şi de adaptare la exigențele actuale, care derivă implicit din condiționările cadrului de evoluție a societății cunoaşterii. Un aspect care condiționează realizarea la standarde de calitate a obiectivelor acestor structuri infodocumentare este importanța direcționării cu prioritate a investițiilor în realizarea infrastructurilor tehnice moderne, funcționale şi eficiente pentru diseminarea informației. From a bibliotheconomic perspective, in this vast area of information dominated by continuous changes and new tendencies, the issues of the university libraries is much profound reanalysed through critical perspectives at the beginning of this millennium. The strategies of these libraries are reprojected for the purpose of finding those lines of development and adjustment to the topical demands, which derives implicitly from the conditionings of the developmental frame of the knowledge society. One aspect that conditions the realization by quality standards of the objectives of these info-documentary structures is the importance of directing with priority the investments in realizing the technical modern facilities (infrastructure), functional and efficient for disseminating the information.
