Summary/Abstract: The municipality of Kikinda, located in the north-east of Banat and Vojvodina is charaterized by ethnic diversity where among the prevalent groups are the Serbs (natives and settlers), the Hungarians and theRoma. Other ethnic groups which are less common are the Croats, the Germans and the Romanians. All these nations are characterized by a number of characteristics among which ethno-demografic customs have a very important place. Wedding customs, which are the subject of this work, are the norms of behavior that occur during the wedding ceremonies and they are specific for each of the above ethnic groups. It is difficult to interpret and determine the origin of some of the wedding customs. The customs, as an important part of life of a nation, are very important and they should be written down, cherished and kept from oblivion.
