Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the expression of attributes of science subjects in popular scientific texts. In these texts, subjects are characterised by attributes of several types. Taking into account the frequency of the usage of attributes, they can fall into two groups: 1) the main (dominating) attributes and 2) additional attributes that expand information or make it more precise. The main attributes are expressed by (a) nationality or place of residence (country, city, town, etc.) and (b) academic activity or career (academic degree, profession, position, etc.). The combination of these attributes is the most often means of the expression of science subjects. Taking into account the character of information presented, additional attributes can be either neutral or subjective. Neutral attributes convey essential facts (e.g., scientific inventions, evaluation of academic activity, connections, time) while subjective attributes transmit the author's personal point of view or estimation.
