Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper. The research is connected with the main hypotheses analysis regarding the semantics interpretation of separate compositions depicted on clay products of the Left-Bank Ukraine of the VIth millennium BC - XIV century. The methodology of the research lies in the application of the comparative and historical-logical methods. This methodological approach allows to disclose and analyze the existing ideas of reflecting certain elements of the spiritual culture of a certain time in the decor of ancient ceramics. The scientific novelty of the work consists in broadening of the notion of evolution of scientific thought development in semantic ceramological studios. Conclusions. It is established that compositions of the Bronze Age were studied most systematically during the hundred-year period. Some researches dealt with artifacts from the Neolithic and Early Iron Age. The semantics of mass ornaments is connected with the amulet-multiplier archetype. The ideograms conveyed mythological subjects and numerical symbols associated with the attempts to ensure the safe existence of a particular family or community.
