The Changing Paradigma in Collections Development

Summary/Abstract: Studiul se concentrează asupra procesului dezvoltării colecțiilor bibliotecii publice, încercând să propună o vizune alternativă la cea deterministă, cvasi-dominantă în cercetările mai vechi ori mai noi, de la noi sau deaiurea, despre acest fapt social. Conform acesteia, intitulată paradigma interacționistă, dezvoltarea colecțiilor bibliotecii este o interacțiune cu semnificație de acomodare între bibliotecari și utilizatori în problema colecțiilor bibliotecii. Eseul nostru oferă, de asemenea, o interpretare a rolului prescris de comunitate bibliotecarului (fișa postului său) ca manieră de organizare a mediului interacțiunii dintre bibliotecari și utilizatorii serviciilor bibliotecii și o scurtă analiză a atributelor esențiale ale dezvoltării colecțiilor. Our study focuses upon the process of public libraries collections development, trying to propound an alternative conception to the determinist theories on this social aspect, almost dominating the older or the most recent research in our country and a broad. According to this theory,named the integrating paradigma, the collections development in a public library means an interaction between librarians and users, with adaptation signification, regarding the library collections. Our essay offers also an interpretation of the role presented to the librarian by the community (position tasks), as a manner to organize the environment of the interaction between librarians and users and a short analysis of the essential attributes of the collections development.
