Thematic focus of Studies on the History of Journalisme

Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on historical aspects of the development of gathering and transmitting of news primarily in the press and the news agencies examined by eleven studies in Otázky žurnalistiky in 2007 – 2017. The paper introduces the topics of the studies, the fields of interest of their authors, the first set of journalistic rules, the predecessors of reporting, the development of journalism in Slovakia and abroad following the premises that the history is also a lesson for present and future period. The paper illustrates that Danuša Serafínová, Juraj Vojtek, Svetlana Hlavčáková, Mária Follrichová, Eduard Chmelár, Olívia Strapeková, Peter Olekšák a Matúš Demko put also the emphasis on key elements of journalism: freedom of press, speech and ethical code. After reviewing the above mentioned studies the paper points out the absence of studies focused on slovak exile journalism.
