Summary/Abstract: This article deals with appearance of a Mickiewiczian tradition in Czesław Miłosz’s late poetic output. Mickiewicz is treated in these works as an unknown genius: a mystic, poet of secret code, and spiritual guide who foresees the possible crises of a modernity-being-conceived – one with whom Miłosz happens to struggle with a century later.
