The activity of an Ombudsman for patients’ rights as a means of regulative influence of a state

Summary/Abstract: The article researches the position of public supervision in the field of providing medical services. Analyzing requirements of the Constitution of Ukraine in the aspect of providing protection of patients’ rights, the author has indicated the absence of mechanisms of implementation of the mentioned assertions on availability of medical services. The author has determined that there is a need to pay attention not only to providing public supervision regarding protection patients’ rights, but also at realization of their rights for health protection. The author has analyzed experience of other countries in the aspect of providing patients’ rights.
