Summary/Abstract: Colorectal cancer is a diet-related disease classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the third position from the aspect of the number of cases and deaths. The main factors promoting the development of colorectal cancer have been classified as obesity, consumption of red meat and alcohol. It is presumed that implementation of a health education, promoting life style, i.e. an adequate diet, increased physical effort or maintenance of a proper body weight, would result in a significant decrease in the number of new cases of colorectal cancer.
