Summary/Abstract: This article makes an attempt to present the experience of libraries in Great Britain and their good practices in promoting the children’s and students’ reading activities. The libraries in the country have a fundamental contribution in developing activities rich in form focused on promoting the children’s and students’ interest in books and reading.In the country researched the presence of the state is strongly felt and so is its support through creating diverse structures with ministries as well as delegating rights to non-governmental organizations. The importance and role of partnerships formed with interested parties is key to achieving success especially cooperation between libraries and educational institutions.
