The Restoration of the Frame in which is Enframed a Well-known Portrait of the Metropolitan Andrei Şaguna Painted by Sava Henţia

Summary/Abstract: In 1900 the painter, Sava Henția finish’s an important portrait of Bishop AndreiȘaguna, paid by the professors from Sibiu. The frame, that ennobles the painting wasalso an important order for that time. Exposed for a long time in the Festive Room ofthe Theological Institute, the frame suffered numerous degradations, because ofmany inadequate manipulations and interventions, that forced it to undergo acomplex restoration process, that took place in the Laboratory of Conservation andRestoration, the Department of Orthodox Archbishop of Sibiu during 2017.
