Summary/Abstract: Unlike in the humanities, the cooperation of Czech and Polish researchers in area of natural sciences has not been successfully explored. Yet, there is ample evidence for the issue in the Czech archives, i.e., the correspondence between Czech and Polish researchers. Going back to the days of the Habsburg monarchy, the scientific contacts between the scientists flourished from the mid-1920s to the mid-1930s. Particularly effective was the cooperation in the field of nature conservation. The Czech drew on the experience of the Polish scholars, who, e.g., had organised the Pieniny National Park. In addition, unlike the contacts between the humanists in both countries, relations between the representatives of natural sciences were not so heavily dependent on fluctuations caused by political issues or attitude to history.
