Summary/Abstract: The introduction of straightened calendar in Bessarabia was one of the most difficult problems of the ecclesiastical authorities in 1924 of the 20th century. The Bessarabia press, especially the one printed in the Russian language, reacted swiftly against the introduction of the new calendar in the Church. The reactions are produced, first of all, the ignorant and faithful conservative mass up to fanaticism -„new style” represent the betrayal of true faith. The believers would have reacted differently if he had been „subjected to” a propaganda smart catechist. Priesthood and secular press did not showed convinced of the justness of the appeared „stylist” movements. Even churches aren’t looked more responsive, they have vehemently opposed the introduction of the straightened calendar, provoking the „stylist” movement. They came into open conflict with Archbishop Gurie Grosu, who fight for the unity of the Church and the Holy Synod of the Romanian from Bucharest
