NICOLAE TITULESCU BETWEEN FRENCH POLITICIANS AND THE FOUR-POWER PACT

Summary/Abstract: Titulescu`s contribution to the interwar challenges was a memorable one. Amongwhich we remember his contribution in reforming the stipulations of the Four-PowerPact. Why? Because Europe, which at that time had a fragile security balance, was alsoin the midst of massive efforts to temper the revisionist tendencies and signing such anagreement would not only cancel previous agreements but would also open the way forrevision of the post-war treaties. The Romanian and international historiography hasshown sufficient interest towards this subject and also Titulescu's contribution in thismatter had been tangentially touched. Nevertheless I would like to highlight in thisarticle the reaction of French politicians towards signing of the Pact and also therepercussions against the Romanian-French relationship.
