Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to examine whether the shopping tourism has its place in the strategies cities in Poland and all over the world. The author also considers in which direction and with the use of which tools the development is planned. There are also considerations how cities in Poland and all over the world describe shopping in the planning documents for action development and promotion on shopping tourism. In the paper author discusses the theoretical and practical issues for shopping tourism and tools for its development, tourist shopping and strategic planning documents. Author analyzed these strategic documents and marketing plans on the examples of the cities in Poland and in the world where the shopping tourism development and promotion planning issues were placed.
