Supralibros of the Catholic High Priests Preserved in the Collections of Teleki Bolyai Library from Târgu Mureș

Summary/Abstract: Many times old books preserve not only handwriten notes on different events, sale agreements etc, but also ownership marks. Sometimes, the owners are not known, othertimes we encounter ownership marks that belonged to some personalities that influnced the age when they carried out their acyivity: politicians, teachers, clergy, members of noble families. This paper deals with a special category of the ownership marks encountered on old books: the supralibros, that appears on the books’ cover; we focused on copies of old book from the collections of Teleki-Bolyai Library from Târgu Mureș that belonged to some Catholic high priests.
