Summary/Abstract: The great collections of old book from Romania are owned by important cultural institutions of profile: libraries, museums, denominations. There are cases in which valuable collections of old book formed into profile institutions of regional or even local importance, such a case being the Municipal Library ,,Stroe S. Belloescu” from Bârlad (Vaslui county). The considered collection encompasses beside numerous copies of old Romanian Book from the XVIIth-XIXth centuries also several copies of old foreign books from the same period. Special attention was given to copies printed in Cyrillic, of Ukrainian origin, especially the printing shop that operated in Lviv. The library preserves 4 copies of old Ukrainian printed book and the manuscript whose text bears also several Ukrainian engravings.
