Political Correctness - Walking on Thin Ice

Summary/Abstract: The main focus of the paper is a discussion on the evolution of the ”political correctness” (PC) concept, with a view to identifying ways and means of sensitizing students as to its significance, changes in time and implications, in an effort to increase their intercultural communicative competence. The position we defend is that we have to give our learners ? future engineers in multinational corporations - the opportunity to raise their awareness of the PC phenomenon within the ”English for Professional Communication” module.
