Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Apostol’s actions against the policy of Nicolae Ceauşescu were well known by nomenklatura of the Romanian Communist Party. The competition between them for the position of general secretary of the RCP didn’t stop after the victory of Ceauşescu (March 1965). For example, from August 1988 to March 1989, Apostol tried to convince old leaders from omenklatura to fight against Ceauşescu. In spring of 1989, a letter of a small group had been read at the Radio Free Europe and Ceauşescu used different methods for convincing all members of that group to renounce at their actions.
