NDIHMESA E NIMON ALIMUSAJT PËR MBLEDHJEN E EPOSIT TË KRESHNIKËVE NË RRAFSHIN E DUKAGJINIT DHE NË RUGOVË
NIMON ALIMUSAJ’S CONTRIBUTION IN COLLECTING THE EPOS OF FRONTIER WARRIORS IN THE VALLEY OF DUKAGJINI AND RUGOVA

Summary/Abstract: The work of Nimon Alimusajt in collecting of twenty songs of the epos of Frontier Warriors and two ballads in the Valley of Dukagjini and Rugova is of special relevance for Albanian folcloristics. He made immortal lahute players such as Rizë Beka-Alimusaj, Hysen Bajrami-Alimusaj, Smajl Zeqa-Selmanmusaj, Maliq Bajrami-Tishukaj, Bajram Zymeri-Avdullahaj, Halil Beka-Mehmetaj and increased the fame of famous lahute player Shaban Groshi-Husaj. He also made known the history of collecting the epos in villages of the upper side of the Valley of Dukagjini: Strellc, Isniq, Lybeniq and Trubuhoc, and also village Shkrel in the province of Rugova. He collected around 10 thousand verses from these seven lahute players. Those songs were published by the Institute of Albanology in Prishtina, in volumes Këngë kreshnike (Songs of Frontier Warriors), I, (1974), Balada dhe legjenda (Ballads and Legends) (1974) and Këngë kreshnike, III (1993), whereas in 2009 republished them in special edition titled: By the lahute of Dukagjini, Heroic songs and ballads. This collection testifies wide geographic extension of songs for Frontier Warriors, whence the toponims of our regions to Europe’s to Asia: Klladusha, Grykat e Klladushës, Durrësi, Malësia, Shqipnia, Klysyra e Zezë, Shpella e Zezë, Lugjet e Verdha, Bjeshkët e Nelta, Maja e Mrehtë, Bjeshkët e Vogla, Fusha e Lame, Bjeshkët e Sejës, Seja, Seja e Vogël, Janova, Moreja, Bjeshka e Talirit, Fushat e Talirit, Taliri, Klysyret e Kotorreve, Kotorret e Mëdha, Kotorri, Tuna, Çardaku, Bishti i Qesarit, Stamolli, Anadolli, Miskovi, Deti i Zi, Qabja, Arabia etc.
