Summary/Abstract: The author attempts to clarify a concept which, from the perspective of those interested in behavioural sciences, has multiple meanings. The author exemplifies the fact that ‟social pedagogy‟ – as a science – deals, in the view of some, with social assistance, or, according to others, with the education of adults or with the problems faced by people with adaptation difficulties or with special educational needs. Anton Ilica defines the concept by stating the fact that social pedagogy is a branch of pedagogy which focuses on social integration, namely the systemic socialization of the young generation.
