Summary/Abstract: Collaboration between kindergarten, school and family follows from the immanent goals of the educational process. The economic, political, institutional and media factors influencing the partnership between kindergarten, school and family are discussed. The data concerning some media representations of young people’s education in Bulgaria and economic situation in the country are presented. The functions of the school psychologist or pedagogical counsellor in Bulgarian schools and kindergartens are described. S/he executes some mediating, supervising, mentoring and co-ordinating roles working with children, parents, teachers, and organizational representatives. Some cases of psychologists’ activity in the kindergarten and school are presented. They concern the work not only with children, but also with their parents. The trend is to appoint more and more psychologists in Bulgaria to different institutions in order to improve mental health of different parts of the population from early childhood.
