SOCIALIZARE ŞI DIVERTISMENT LA 1900. „TABLOURI” DINTR-O EXPOZIŢIE
SOCIAL LIFE AND ENTERTAINMENT AT ABOUT 1900 “PAINTINGS” IN AN EXHIBITION

Summary/Abstract: The temporary exhibition “Social Life and Entertainment at about 1900” was opened in one of the rooms at the ground floor of the Palace of Culture, at the end of August 2016. The topic was illustrated with the help of items that belong to the collections of Moldavia’s History Museum and of other museums within “Moldova” National Museum Complex of Iași, as well as of items that belong to private collectors, such collaborations being already traditional within the museum activity (“Cornelius” Antiques Shop in Iași). The following hypostases were illustrated: Visit to a Boyars’ “Salon”; A Visit to the Jockey-Club; Photographers’ workshop of other epochs; At the Theatre – A Proof of Elegance. Organizing this exhibition we had the chance to return to the “la Belle Epoque” spirit and go through the Museum collection regarding this period once again. It was a very good exercise for the preparation of the future permanent exhibition of Moldavia’s History Museum.
