Summary/Abstract: UDT (Universal Dataflow and Telecommunications) a fost unul dintre programele fundamentale ale IFLA, care și-a desfășurat activitatea în perioada (1980-2003), fiind găzduit de National Library of Canada, până în 2001 și apoi de L'Institut de I'Information Scientifique et Technique INIST - Franța. Articolul de față prezintă obiectivele acestui program IFLA, proiectele care s-au aflat în desfășurare precum și finalitatea acestui program prin crearea IFLANET-ului. Din august 2003, cu ocazia încheierii activității primelor programe IFLA (UBCIM și UDT Core Programme Offices), în vederea continuării și extinderii punerii în practică a realizării acestora, s-a încheiat Alianța IFLA - CDNL pentru standardele bibliografice (ICABS). UDT was one of the basic programs of IFLA. It was developed between 1980-2003, at the National Library of Canada until 2001 and afterwards at Institut de l 'Information Scientifique et Technique - INIST, in France. This article presents the amis of the UDT program, the projects that took place and the purpose of the program: the development of IFLANET. In august 2003 the activity of the first IFLA programs ended (UBCIM and UDT Core Programme Offices). The IFLA - CDNL Alliance for the bibliographic standards (ICABS) took place in order to continue and to extend the achievements of the two programs.
