[a comparative study]

Summary/Abstract: Studiul se bazează pe un sondaj care investighează opiniile și experiența unor categorii diverse de utilizatori ai bibliotecii pe timp de 4 ani. Chestionarul a fost concepu în scopul unui feed-back privind următoarele aspecte: categorii de utilizatori, domenii de interes, evaluarea nevoii de asistență în regăsire, identificare utilizatorilor calculatoarelor, colectarea opiniilor privind serviciile oferite, sugestii pentru servicii mai bune. Concluziile separate pe categorii de utilizatori (studenți, cadre didactice, cercetători, alte categorii) relevă preferința sporită pentru regăsirea online, a Internetului și a bazelor de date pe CD-ROM, mai ales în cazul studenților. The study is based on a survey investigating the opinions and experience of different categories of infomation searchers over 4 years. The questionnaire was meant to give feed-back on four methods used in information retrieval and provided data on issues like: category of usesrs, domain of interest, evaluation of the frequency of use of different IR tools, evaluation of the relevance of the information retrieved, evaluation of the need for assistance in IR, identification of the users of the computer, collectind the opinions on the information services offered, making suggestions for improved services. The conclusions are drawn on each category of users (students, faculty, researchers and others) the most important being the growning preferenece for the online information retrieval, Internet and the use of CD-ROM databases, particulary in the case of students.
