Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes modernism and postmodernism in the context of procedural and polyvibrational being of the culture. The need to introduce the concept of "intentionalism" into scientific practice, which is capable to summarize various trends of culture in the final period of its formation, is justified. Such position contributes to deeper characterization of the mentioned concepts makes it possible to determine the objective laws of culture being in intentional period, to make certain prognostic assessment about the future of its development.
