Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the integration discourse that has been present in Germany for decades with varying intensity in correlation with current political events. The key notions for this discourse are the concepts of integration, multiculturalism and assimilation, and the analysis of those concepts which is to demonstrate semantic fluctuations leading to an ultimate change in their meaning which, in turn, evidently shapes the discursive image of the world.
