Summary/Abstract: Historical links between Bulgarian and Russian researchers in the field of Slavic studies, and between the oldest Bulgarian scientific institution – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and Russian scientific societies, as well as the Russian Academy of Sciences, stimulated Slavic studies in Russia, especially those related to the literary heritage of St. Cyril and Methodius and the Old Bulgarian literature as a whole. BAS nominated a number of Russian researchers its foreign honorary members due to their contributions to the development of the Paleo-Slavic studies The cumulative records („selected works“), collected in the procedure for selection for corresponding members of Alexander Yatsemirskiy, Mikhail Speransky, Alexei Sobolewski, Vladimir Frantsev, Nikolai Glubokovski, Afanasij Selištev, Gregory Ilinskiy, Mikhail Popruzhenko, Boris Lyapunov, and others, are a reliable source for their lives and literary heritage. This documentation is complemented by a vast array of official documents in the collection of the Academy (diplomas, official correspondence, bibliographies, lectures, etc.) It is also worth mentioning the correspondence between Russian and Bulgarian scholars such as Yordan Ivanov, Stoyan Romanesque, Stefan Mladenov, Lyubomir Miletich, Ivan Shishmanov, Ivan Snegarov, Vasil Zlatarski, Peter Mutafchiev, and others.
